Classes

QIGONG (online, rolling 4-class series)

In these classes, we work actively yet gently with our energy through a variety of Qigong methods. Using moving, breathing and meditative practices, we gradually strengthen and balance our energy system. Through mindful engagement with our energy, we simultaneously grow our awareness of it and the skill to work with it for the purposes of optimal health and wellbeing.

Classes are organized into 4-week series around a common theme, giving you an opportunity to feel the benefits of consistent practice. Themes may include individual sets of practices, therapeutic applications, principle(s) of practice, working with specific types of energy (e.g. five phases, Wuji), focus on part(s) of our energy system (e.g. organ meridians, extraordinary meridians, dantiens), and others. I welcome requests, so please be in touch by email () and let me know what you would like to explore.

Classes are suitable to all abilities, all levels of experience, and all body/mind types. All practices are accessible standing, seated, lying down, or as intentional practice (without physical movement).

Meeting time (online live classes – via Zoom):

Wednesdays 17:00 -18:00

Upcoming series dates and themes (each series runs for 4 weeks):

August 26th – September 16th, 2026 (REGISTER HERE)

Theme: Qigong healing sounds for the health of our organs (try the healing sounds practice along with my audio meditation below)

The Qigong healing sounds practice functions as a kind of massage for our organs. The vibrations we make with our voice clear stuck energies from the organs, allowing them to function optimally. The practice is particularly effective at clearing stuck emotions, which are said to reside within the organs. The specific sounds I will offer are the ones I learned from my teacher John Munro of Long White Cloud Qigong.

September 23rd – October 14th, 2026

Theme: Qigong Walking (REGISTER HERE)

The theme of this series is Qigong Walking. Qigong Walking practices are an enjoyable way to bridge our Qigong practice and daily life. With the help of the rhythmic pattern of walking, these gentle practices grow our awareness of the movement of energy within us, through us, and the energy exchange with the environment around us. They help us refresh our energy, develop healthy walking habits, improve our balance, and can even be used for specific therapeutic applications.

NOTE: While these practices are optimized for walking, they can be practiced from a stationary position (standing or seated). I will use a progressive approach to teaching them, starting with the stationary postures and progressing to walking. If walking is not accessible to you, you can choose to remain stationary (standing or seated), or join in using intentional practice (visualizing yourself walking with the practices).

November 11th – December 2nd, 2026

Theme Taiji Moving Set (REGISTER HERE)

The theme of this series is the Taiji Moving Set from Long White Cloud Qigong, a set of movement exercises that work with the polarity of yin and yang (complementary opposites). The practice builds and activates the polarity, which then expresses as dynamic movement. Working with Taiji can balance all pairs of opposites within us, allowing energy to move more freely. For example, it can help resolve differences between left and right sides of the body, create harmony between sympathetic and parasympathetic branches of the nervous system, and allow healthy, vibrant flow of energy into our life projects.

NOTE: While some of these practices are more dynamic and physically challenging, all can be practiced in a gentle way, from standing or seated posture, or as intentional practice (visualizing yourself following along with the movements).

Investment:

80 EUR (91 USD, 11.500 ISK) per 4-week series

Recordings of each 4-week series are available to registered participants for two weeks past the last class.

LIVE CLASSES on InsightTimer

In addition to a growing library of audio meditations I release on the InsightTimer platform, I offer period live practices, drawing from a number of different modalities. Unlike the Zoom classes I host independently, InsightTimer allows only for one-way audio/video. This means you can see and hear me, but I (or anyone else) cannot see or hear you. There is a chat interface, which allows you to communicate with me and other participants (if you wish). Live practices on InsightTimer are supported entirely by the generosity of the community. As teachers, we do not receive funds to host the events. We therefore invite you to make a donation to support your teacher whenever you attend. To attend one of my InsightTimer live events, click on the link to a particular event below. No pre-registration is required.

Upcoming live events on InsightTimer (online):

Friday Sep 11th, 2026 9:30-10:00 UTC: Qigong for Your Day (30 min)

Join me for a short, simple movement practice to rebalance our energy. Clearing energies such as tiredness, heaviness, stress, or agitation from body, mind, and heart, we’ll allow fresh, clear energy to circulate and nourish us. Appropriate for any time of day and accessible to all. Practice standing, seated, or lying down visualizing the movement.

Saturday Sep 12th, 2026 17:00-17:30 UTC: Standing Like a Tree (Wuji Zhan Zhuang Qigong Practice) (30 min)

Come experience one of the foundational practices of Qigong: standing meditation known as Wuji Zhan Zhuang. This practice is accessible from either standing or seated postures. The intention of this live is to offer a taste of the practice, which I dive deeper into in my audio course (available on the InsightTimer platform). I will guide about a 15-minute full practice including gentle movement to warm up, then allow time for questions about the course and the material contained within.

Below are some of the kind words students have shared about practicing with me. Thank you for giving me permission to print your words here.

“Markéta is such a gifted and generous teacher! Her classes on Insight Timer have been the perfect introduction to Qigong and this spiritual way of living, and I’m delighted to connect with her through her website for in-person teaching and inspiration. She offers very clear instructions with patience and an emphasis on self acceptance. Her calm is contagious and I will follow her everywhere!” – Cathy M (USA)

“I found Marketa initially on Insight Timer and as with all new instructors I enter with an open mind and heart and I stay because they speak to me in a silent way I cannot find the words to share. The practice she shares is so open, honest and gentle as it seems is her heart. Maybe that is the key to her effectiveness. I have branched off and will be sharing in some of her other offerings, the first one was the winter solstice [Light within Darkness: Restorative Qigong for Winter Solstice] and I was not disappointed. It never fails to amaze me how you can find what you are looking for or needing when you stop searching. For me; she is a breath of fresh air.” – Susan M
